Composite decking (WPC) combines wood and plastic – blending the natural look of wood with the low-maintenance qualities of plastic. Plastic decking is lightweight and moisture-resistant, but often less aesthetically pleasing. Wooden decking looks natural and elegant, but requires regular maintenance and treatment. No, the colour of Terafest® decking boards remains stable. In the first few months after installation, the surface may undergo a natural maturing process – that is, a subtle change in shade that gives the material a natural patina. The colour maturing process begins as soon as the boards are exposed to sun and rain. Initially, the surface may take on a yellowish tinge, but this will quickly fade. This phenomenon is entirely natural and the colour will subsequently stabilise – usually within 3 to 6 months, and up to a year for covered terraces. To ensure even maturing, we recommend moving furniture around the terrace and occasionally rinsing it with water. The Terafest® WPC decking is low-maintenance and requires no impregnation or varnishing. Simply rinse it with water from time to time. Twice a year (in spring and autumn), we recommend a more thorough clean using a brush (not a wire brush), soap and water. Special cleaning products for WPC materials are also available. Regular maintenance reduces the risk of slipping and extends the product’s lifespan. Do not forget to clean the gaps between the boards, which allow water to drain away easily and moisture to escape from the underside of the decking, particularly with the INFINIT profile.

The 25-year extended warranty on Terafest® products applies to all composite wood products against wood-destroying fungi, rot and insects under standard conditions. For all other cases, a 5-year warranty applies. Under the warranty, we will replace any damaged products. If the product in question is no longer manufactured, we will replace it with a similar one. No further financial or other compensation may be claimed under this warranty. Installation and all other work and costs associated with the replacement of cladding profiles are excluded from the warranty.
